A 20-acre parcel sits in the middle of a residential area, off of Savona Parkway West, in Cape Coral, FL. The proposed vacant land is positioned near the southeast corner of Chiquita Blvd and Savona Parkway on SW 38th Terrace.
Roer Development bought the land in early 2018. They feel the market in Cape Coral needs more apartment complexes for families and single people with an average income.
Roer submitted a variance request to build the five apartment buildings that would reach heights of more than 40 feet. The City's code only allows for 38 foot high structures.
The developers have agreed to move the building away from the residential neighborhood street. In return, they would like to build up instead of out.
"Roer said its target market for tenants is the entry-level apartment dweller, maybe a teacher or perhaps a young family with kids", explains NBC-2 News reporter Delia D'Ambra.
The Savona Parkway Apartments monthly rent will cost between $1,000 - $1,600, with one, two and three bedroom apartments available.
